Stone Walkways & Garden Paths

The path to the front door is the first thing everyone sees. Make it stone.

Stone Walkways & Paths in the Hill Country

Built for how you live outside

A well-built walkway does two jobs: it gets people safely where they’re going, and it frames the house. Front entries, side yards, paths to the dock and stepping stones through a garden all change how a property feels as you move through it.

We build walkways in mortar-set flagstone, pavers, dry-laid stone and steppers set in decomposed granite, with stone steps and landings where the grade changes. Every path is set with proper slope and base so it stays flat, drains and doesn’t become a trip hazard.

We build stone walkways & paths throughout Lago Vista, Jonestown, Cedar Park, Volente, Leander and Liberty Hill, and in communities from Tessera and The Hollows to Travisso and Santa Rita Ranch.

Materials & styles

Choose your look

Mortar-set flagstone

Smooth, solid and formal: perfect for front entries.

Steppers in DG

Relaxed, permeable and budget-friendly for garden paths.

Pavers

Uniform and crisp; matches paver patios and driveways.

Stone slab steps

Solid limestone treads for slopes down to the water.

Local know-how

Grade changes are the rule, not the exception

On lake lots in Jonestown, Volente and Lago Vista, a path to the water can mean dozens of feet of elevation. We break long runs into comfortable steps and landings, use heavy stone slab treads that won’t shift, and manage runoff so a path doesn’t turn into a creek in a storm.

FAQ

Stone Walkways & Paths: common questions

Straight answers. If yours isn't here, call and ask. You'll talk to the person who'll build it.

What’s the most affordable stone walkway?

Stepping stones set in decomposed granite with a steel edge give you a natural stone look for less than mortar-set flagstone.

How wide should a front walkway be?

We typically recommend at least 4 feet so two people can walk side by side, wider for grand entries. Garden paths can be narrower.

Can you build steps down to the lake?

Yes. We build stone slab and boulder steps on steep lake lots, planned around the existing grade and drainage.

Will a flagstone walkway get slippery?

Natural cleft flagstone has good texture. We avoid polished stone outdoors and set slope so water doesn’t sit on the surface.

Justin and team have kept my yard in shape, done more serious cleanup of shrubs and trees and do a fantastic job. I have seen some of his bigger jobs and they are amazing. Love the work and the people conscientious. Glad to use a local company.

We have been using Just-N-Time for a couple of years now. After trying out other services in the area that were very lackluster, Just-N-Time has proven to be the most reliable and is extremely focused on doing a great job and providing great service.
