Volente is a small village on Lake Travis’s north shore off RR 2769. It’s one of the lake’s most distinctive places to live, with waterfront homes, marinas, and Hill Country views in every direction.
Waterfront lots and steep grades
We build lakefront terraces, stone steps to the water, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces and pergolas for Volente homes, designed for the steep grade, the wind off the lake and the views that make these properties worth what they are.
Volente’s lakefront lots can drop sharply to the water, over rock and loose ground that erodes in heavy rain. Hardscape here has to be built like infrastructure, with terraces, retaining walls and drainage that holds the hill together, and then finished like a resort.

Can you build down to the water on a steep lot?
Yes. Stone steps, terraces and retaining walls on steep lakefront lots are exactly what Volente properties need, and what we build.
Are there special rules for lakefront work?
Work near the shoreline can involve additional rules from the village and lake authorities. We’ll identify what applies before design is final.
How do you handle wind on the lake?
We anchor pergolas and structures for exposure, place fire features out of the prevailing wind, and use walls and planting as windbreaks.
